Chistina Lee Studio

Artist Statement

Christina Lee Christensen was born in Lagrange, Indiana. Her father was a truck driver and her mother stayed home to care for the family. Christina drew occasionally in childhood, but her first painting class was not until high school.
Christina spent a lot of her time in fear of  what if.  However, that changed
after a car accident on
March 8, 2001. Hours and  days turned into  years, relearning to hold a fork, dress, hold a conversation and eventually drive again. During that battle a change took place in her and a decision was made to never again fear what if but to think instead why not.
Christina took the first steps towards a higher degree at Dixie State University. It was in this setting that painting with oil and photography became a place of solace and expression. It was with paint and photography that she found her voice.
She has been in juried shows at the Sears Art Museum, as well as private shows in and out of the state of Utah
Christina will  finish with  her BFA in the fall of 2018 knowing she overcame the whispers of the past.
In her work she likes to depict the silent struggles, joy, and quiet moments that are life changing but not always visible.
